Karolinska Institutet Science Park is closely attached to Karolinska Institutet, both geographical and organizational. KI Science Park is located on KI´s two fast expanding Campus-areas, both with high occupancy rates.
Campus Solna – an essential part of Hagastaden
Stockholm is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe and Hagastaden is one of the largest urban development projects in Sweden, a new university hospital, Karolinska Institutet is building an ultramodern, purpose-built facility for experimental medical research (Biomedicum), flats, offices and hotel Hagaplan that will bind Solna to Stockholm and create a vibrant science district of the city. Campus Solna brings together world-class research, clinical development and innovative companies as well as students, researchers and entrepreneurs from around the world.
On Campus Flemingsberg, together with Karolinska Insitutet, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Södertörn University, KaroIinska Institutet Science Park AB is established in a building located in the center of Flemingsberg. The campus area infill with a building, Technology for Health for KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Red Cross as well as the research house Neo for Karolinska Institutet. This effort will in the long run increase the attraction to Flemingsberg. At Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge is Innovation Center situated. They work in close collaboration between industry and Karolinska’s clinicians, researchers and patients to get best possible health care.
KI Science Park cooperates closely with the Stockholm County Council, Huddinge municipality, Botyrka municipality and the City of Solna which reinforces its strong local ties in both Solna and Flemingsberg. Being located in such close proximity of the regions two university hospitals creates a regular flow of new collaborators.
